Who is Candid Sol?

Angie Roberts is the owner and lead photographer of Candid Sol. She has been photographing Arizona weddings since 2010 – straight out of college photography classes. People and emotions have always been the thing that inspires her more than anything. Angie’s passion for people and people at weddings has only grown over the years. She has a sincere passion for photographing weddings and that genuine enthusiasm for storytelling sets her apart from other Tucson wedding photographers.

Her love for
black and white photography is obvious in the wedding photographs that she delivers.

Angie also loves the vibrancy of intense, dramatic colors and imagery. She chooses between delivering color or black and white by paying attention to how best to tell the story of the couple’s wedding day and the moments that occur. She believes, in the end, the stories that are best preserved are the ones that revolve around the couple and their loved ones. These are the wedding day memories the couples will want to relive over and over.

The Experience.

Choosing Angie to photograph your wedding is no different than asking your best friend to bring their camera to your wedding. She will get to know you and the loved ones you are inviting so she can be sure to capture the candid moments that mean the most to you.

Angie brings a level of honesty and storytelling in her wedding photographs that is not typically seen in other Tucson wedding photographers.

Angie loves to showcase people as they are – focusing on the overlooked and the unobvious, while being empathetic and unobtrusive. A client
recently described Angie as a “true ‘camera ninja.’” If you have seen Angie at work at a wedding, then you know this is an accurate statement.

She hopes you will find peace in being yourself and wants to capture you just as you are on your wedding day. No matter the wedding venue nor the wedding decor, when you look back on your wedding photographs, Angie strives for you to see your wedding guests for who they are and not what she has posed or curated them to be.

Your wedding day is about you and your loved ones, and if that is your main focus, then hiring a photojournalistic/candid wedding photographer, like Candid Sol Wedding Photography will be the right choice for you.

Angie will hear couples saying that they feel like their wedding won’t be enough – that their DIY wedding decor aren’t overly elaborate or that there won’t be much going.  Angie wants you to know that your story is enough. You do not need to worry about being enough. Be yourself and don’t try to do what others are doing.

Your wedding day will be enough.

What is your favorite piece of advice you give to clients?

Take a moment for just the two of you.

This could be having a first look before your ceremony. This might be:

– the two of you going off to a private space after the wedding ceremony where you can be alone and take in the moments that just happened

– a few minutes before or after you start couples portraits, when you are taken away from the guests to take photos

– before the night ends, engaging in a last dance. Think of something that will be meaningful for you and just enjoy the moment (and don’t be afraid to invite your photographer to be a part of it, if you want, even if just for a brief minute).
