Tucson wedding baker and Tucson small business owner, Jayleen of Little Sugar Crumb Sweets, took a moment to give her 5 top tips as a wedding vendor that she loves the to give her wedding couples who purchase wedding cakes and desserts from her.

And now, she is sharing them with you.

These are Little Sugar Crumb Sweets’ Top 5 Tips for your Wedding Cake on your Wedding Day:

Tip #1:

DO NOT PUT YOUR CAKE OR DESSERTS IN THE SUN!

If it’s an outdoor event, Little Sugar Crumb Sweets recommends keeping the cake, and any desserts, out of direct sunlight as the frosting will melt. Whether it’s your baker or your best friend putting your wedding cake out for you and your wedding guests to enjoy during your wedding reception, make sure they do not put your cake in the direct sunlight, especially for an Arizona wedding. Y’all know how that Arizona sun and heat affects everything.

So you want to be sure that they are aware of where the sun is and where it is going, so your beautiful wedding cake is not in the sun’s trajectory.

(The light in the photograph below comes from a flash, not the sun. Come on now.)

Tip #2:

THE CAKE IS YOUR PRECIOUS PASSENGER.

When picking up your wedding desserts and cake, place them on the front passenger floorboard, as it is a flat level surface, and it is more safe there than on the seat, where it can fall off. Plus, this gives you the option to have that A/C blowing down in that area to keep your precious cargo cool.

…Which bring us to tip #3…

Tip #3:

USE YOUR A/C ON WHILE TRANSPORTING YOUR CAKE.

Make sure to have the A/C on when transporting your lovely wedding desserts, BUT do not have it blowing directly on the cake as that as that can cause condensation and lead the beautiful cake fondant and icing to crack.

Tip #4:

FREEZE YOUR LEFTOVERS!

Yup, no reason to leave any wedding goodies behind. If there are any leftover servings from your wedding desserts, you can put them in the refrigerator for 3-5 days or wrap them in plastic wrap and freeze them for up to three months.

Maybe eat them for your 3-month anniversary?
