The bride is wearing a white, lace wedding dress and mid-back veil and the groom wearing a black tuxedo. In the background are the two officiants wearing black, long coat tuxedos and black and gold sashes, and the maid of honor is wearing a black, floor length dress, holding the bride’s bouquet.

An Arizona wedding just outside of South Mountain Park in Phoenix, Arizona on New Year’s Eve… Yes, please!

Kirt and Alexsis came back to Arizona to have their dream wedding with close friends and family, and it was a PARTY! This was a DIY backyard wedding that incorporated small but very present items (you’ll see some Sailor Moon wedding decor and also some lime and Tajin – if you know, you know) that were important to the couple, and as you will see, their incorporations weren’t just physical items, but truly, their wedding guests. Family is important to this wedding couple and the family was supportive in each aspect of the day.

Even though the skies got dark on the morning of their wedding day, the clouds parted literally at the time of their wedding ceremony, so it really made for some dramatic photos during a lovely Arizona sunset.

One of the most underrated things on a wedding day is showing off the chaos of a what actually happens on the big day. People are everywhere and their shit is everywhere, and THAT IS OKAY. It’s a wedding day and during the getting ready portion of the day, it’s pure chaos. I love that Alexsis and Kirt didn’t shy away from being real in those moments, and they just owned it.

Then there are those quiet wedding moments. Alexsis decided to gift her mother-in-law a meaningful gift that was a beautiful moment just between the Groom and his mom – where the Kirt presented his mom with the gift from her new daughter-in-law. Then there are beautiful wedding moments like the wedding day first look.

Alexsis did a first look with her father which was a sweet moment, and then went on to do a first touch with her husband (where Kirt read a letter that she wrote to him after they first met, but she has not let him read until this day) and that moment turned into a first look. And the excitement on Kirt’s face when he saw his bride for the first time was just priceless (as you will see).

After a stunning backyard wedding ceremony just before sunset, a taco cart, heartfelt wedding toasts, and an outfit change from the bride, the evening concluded with a few intimate moments where the bride and groom took a few wedding portraits and lovingly reminisced about their wedding day. Such a beautiful way to end a New Year’s Eve Wedding (although I am pretty sure their night didn’t end there and plenty more alcohol was consumed LOL).
